MugHug 0 Posted March 2, 2007 This is a shot in the dark as I cannot verifiy it since my upgrade went well. In OFP I could get similar types of error applying patches. I remember that with applying the patches in OFP I had to turn off DMA settings in my motherboard BIOS to patch successfully. Once installed I restored my DMA setting to original. I experienced this with some of my AMD based systems and cannot talk about Intel systems. I never found out why, but it did work.
xerxes1er 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Very interesting story. Especially cause I have been experiencing such a pbm for age with (ONLY) OFP first and now Arma but never noticed such advice anywere. If it works, you'll save a big part of my life... By the way, could you please detail how to turn off DMA settings on my motherboard please (which is an Asus A8N SLI Prenium supporting my AMD 64 4000+) ? xerxes1er 0 Posted March 27, 2007 Ok to me. It was either a graphic card or memory plug problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling them fixed my prob (actually I switch my ram dual channel position).
