dirtylarrygb 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Oh boy can I relate to this topic! I've just bought an Evga GeForce 8800GTX ACS3 with 768 mb ram. I'm running Vista business (32 bit), and the demo (1.03) worked just fine, the game was even running 100% smooth when aiming into close foliage and trees! Arma finally hits the streets in a UK version and I go to buy it, and voila! The game turns unplayable. It's NOT satisfactory that the demo ran just fine, and the whole game runs VERY slow (even with poor textures as described above). How can this be? The 1.05 update didn't help at all, it actually made everything worse for me! I would also like some of the developers to comment on this excact issue. My system specs: Intel E6600 @ 3GHz 2 GB 800MHz corsair ram (dual channel) Evga Geforce 8800GTX ACS3 768 MB (Nvidia 100.65 drivers) Asus P5WD Deluxe mobo Creative X-Fi Platinum get rid of Ntune, nvidia memory controller, reduce textures to normal not very high, and what ever the bug, leek, driver is goes away. I also upgraded my Bios on my mobo and GPU. One of the above fixed it, not sure what though...

ubascouser 0 Posted April 8, 2007 oh and by the way what is the nvidia memory controler
dirtylarrygb 0 Posted April 9, 2007 oh and by the way what is the nvidia memory controler Nvidia mem controller lives in Windows add remove programmes in windows control panal you can choose to bin it on its own. other options are bin nvidia drivers etc. I have no idea why but my machine in now working better with ntune and that unistalled. On the evga boards people have said it was fighting with other drivers and causing issues. I have used bios to overclock my CPU ram etc. My GPU was OC'ed by EVGA in the bios so have left that alone. Someone else noted that either ntune or mem controller was causing the lag when you open the gear page or the map. It's now instant for me.
