clisue 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Hi Guys. Some briulliant post on here. I have followed this trouble shooting thread with interest. I have carried out every item to speed up my ArmA. But, I still get jerky graphics. The nearest comparison is like playing Flashpoint with a lagging server everything happens a fraction of a second after you input and the input is exagerated. Set up is AMD Athlon 64 300+ running at 2.0 mhz 2 gig ram Nvidia 256mb GForce fx 5500 I notice in the manual for the GB version (16th Feb) that we are suppossed to get activeX 9.1 but after install my activeX is 9.0c. A quick look on Microsoft tells me that activeX is due out next month. Would this be the reason for a jerky game?
PKC 0 Posted February 25, 2007 a: Your graphics card is old and part of a series that is barely able to run this game. Upgrade would be the only suggestion. b: DirectX feb is the latest release, but you can use the version supplied on the ArmA disk with no problems.
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Nvidia 256mb GForce fx 5500 There is your problem ! Trying to play ArmA with that graphiccard is like trying to cross the Swiss Alps with a mule. You definitely need to upgrade your card, the fx 5500 is not even ment for games.
clisue 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Ah! Thanks for your response. What would you recommend?
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted February 25, 2007 What would you recommend? To wait for patch 1.05 and then watch this forum for a week or two. If you see positive reports about the "xyz" graphics card, buy this! MfG Lee

-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Thanks for your response. What would you recommend? Well ... at this stage you should have nothing beneath the below mentioned: Nvidia: 7600 - 7700 and upwards ATI: X800 - X850 - X1650 - and anything better
