bAss 0 Posted February 4, 2002 I love this game. Really I do. But recently I installed Windows XP on my machine: AMD EP-7KXA K7 motherboard 700 mhz AMD Athlon processor 256 mb ram (the slow one, can't remember the name  ) Soundblaster Live! Geforce 3 Ti200 Now, I have downloaded and installed the newest drivers for EVERYTHING (4-in-1, soundblaster, nvidia detonator and so on) and upgraded my version of XP from Microsoft's site. But my game still plays like a little chipmunk in Sweden with a broken leg and a bad hair day. In other words, poorly. The funny thing is, it doesn't matter what resolution I'm at, the frame rate is roughly the same in 800X600 as it is in 1600Xwhatever... Now, when I still had Windows 98 SE installed, things went more smoothly (not as smooth as I would like, but still a LOT more smoother). And it only seems to happen at certain mission, like the last one in Red Hammer. That was pure pain to get through, with about 1/2 fps. Really. But then, other missions, with more action and tanks and choppers and other fun stuff run quite fine. I have read through about all the post on the same subject on the boards, been searching like a little bugger, but I still haven't found a working solution. Anyone else experience the same problem, or am I going to have to go and sacrifice my computer to some holy moose? Because I can't stand not playing Flashpoint, and I can't stand playing Flashpoint like this. By the way, I've tried tweaking the settings for both Flashpoint and the geforce, it didn't work (or maybe I'm just not tweaking it the right way..  ) Any suggestions? SamX 0 Posted February 5, 2002 I also installed W-XP with newest drivers ofcourse. My sytem is: p41700Mhz 256MB RDRAM 800Mhz GF2 ULTRA 64MB SBLIVE! and performance AFTER moving from W98 to WXP is really poor. OFP strangely stucks every second, not full stop (which is fixed with taking alternative cache away from detonator settings) but really annoying anyway... Don't know how to fix it; waiting for another OFP patch / WXP servicepack... perhaps I'll move to W2000, it seems to work without problems on W2000.
