dazmorg 0 Posted January 20, 2002 I downloaded the 1.42 upgrade, unzipped it and ran the executabe file whilst the disc was in the machine, on every other upgrade the program checks my installed version before upgrading, this time it had completed the upgrade in a matter of seconds, without checking the installed version. My game shows v1.42 when I start it, so it seems correct, did anyone else experience this super quick upgrade??

It was much faster then usual. the 1.20 -> 1.30 update took me about 6 minutes+ on my P 800 system, the 1.40 -> 1.42 update only 10 secs?
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 20, 2002 That's because the 1.30 was much better. I'd compare 1.42 to 1.40.
dazmorg 0 Posted January 20, 2002 would it hurt to run the executable again just in case, because I'm having extreme problems connecting to MP games through ASE, I just get booted back to the lobby after the "creating server" message, if I manually type in the IP the game never gets displayed in my window. I posted this last problem in Multiplayer but didn't get much response. I also assume this will get moved to troubleshooting soon
Sith 0 Posted January 20, 2002 Upgrade 1.42 is indeed a fast install, so there's no need to worry. And this thread indeed belongs to the troubleshooting forum
