Background: I want to use this for MP missions with group respawn so that the mission will end if either side takes more than a certain percentage of casualties. The main problem with using the obvious approaches is that if you have 4 people in a vehical it is only counted as 1. Also, I would like to be able to have more than one squad on each side but have them so that they can be switched off, e.g. if there are only 2 players then they can play with just one squad per side, by disableing AI.
