Victor_S. 0 Posted April 23, 2005 Ive searched and I know this has been asked several times, but I have tried all the suggestions and none of them have worked for me. I am making a custom optic for my sniper rifle and I cant get it to be transparent. My main problem is that most of the answers are geared to photoshop and I have Paint Shop pro. I tried the tutorials with no sucsess. I downloaded GIMP but the only way Gimp would except the file is if I saved it as a tga which made it loose its transparancy. I actually got it into O2 and it was transparent, but in bulldozer the transparednt parts where white. Sorry im rambling so ill get to the point. Can someone give me a step by step on how to add the alpha channel to my image in Paint Shop Pro. If you like I could post a screen shot of what I have now. syphboy 0 Posted May 10, 2005 Yeah it took me a while too, but I managed to make this custom optic in Gimp 2.2. I pinched the hand from the opt_glock.paa, and made the rest from a screenshot I took in O2. Â What you've got to do is then is make sure that your hand/gun is all black (R=0, G=0, B=0). Â Then make sure the rest of the screen is white (R=255, G=255, B=255). Â Then click Layer->Transparency->Color to Alpha. Â It will ask you to select a colour that you'd like to make invisible. Â Set this as white (R=255, G=255, B=255). Â You can then do stuff like blurring, and whatnot. When you're saving your TGA remember to deselect "RLE Compression". Â I don't know what that is, but TexView doesn't like it. Let us know how you go.
