Brooks 0 Posted March 19, 2005 I have developed, with the generous help of teaCup, a kit that allows one to use the freeware version of Maya to make OFP .rtm animations. Maya is the Hollywood-capable 3D modeling and animation program by Alias/Wavefront. MayaPLE is the freeware version of Maya. It is included on CD in many Maya instruction books. You can also download PLE from the Alias.com website (it's big, 127 Mb). MayaPLE provides, at least for me, a faster way to make .rtm's than using OFPAnim. teaCup's rig (an OFP soldier figure with movable skeleton) Â makes it easy to position a soldier by only moving his foot, for example (IK movement, for the pro's). With PLE you can quickly edit your animation, only changing a few keyframes and letting the computer fix all the rest. I still use OFPAnim, though, as together they make a great animation package. Each program has it's strengths. If you are interested in using this kit, please email me. Put "MayaPLE" in your heading so I don't erase it, mistakenly thinking it's spam. Also, let me know which format you require (.zip or .rar). Once I get some feedback, I plan to release this kit publicly, on this forum or wherever there is interest. -------------------- You may obtain the beta version at the following url hosted by Ben at : http://www.dbrweb.co.uk/hosted/PLE2rtmV3_01.rar Brooks [email protected]
