Guest Posted January 14, 2002 Just thought it odd, any comments - is this a result of the way the game is or what?: In "Air Superiority," your leader will tell you to attack a target, but he is moving away from area: 3: 1, Engage Soldier, 11 o'clock Then, as you try and attack, he'll say: 3: 1, Fall back into formation So, you chase after the leader, who is 1 km away by now, then he says: 3: 1, Engage Soldier, 6 o'clock Soldier is back where you were. This continues until you follow 3 back to base.
Intruder 0 Posted January 14, 2002 If you or your gunner can see the target, your leader will tell you to attack it. Once you move away from the target he should shut up. But if you don't stay in formation for a while the mission will end, so I suggest you stick with your leader
-=-DUNEE-=- 0 Posted January 14, 2002 On a related note, there must be a variable that sets how far away you must be from your leader before he yells at you to get back. Does this figure change depending on the vehicle you're in? Say, 500m on foot or even in a tank is very bad stationkeeping, but I'd find it acceptable when strafing a village from a chopper (not that we do any of that in these parts). Aircraft move much faster and 500m @ 250kph, with 2 choppers flying in opposite directions (and that's 500kph relative), is about 4 seconds.
Guest Posted January 14, 2002 Thanks for the heads up Intruder. Looks like I should stick with the leader, but he moves pretty quickly and it's next to impossible to say where that yellow box is.
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 14, 2002 Don't attack the targets he assigns you, just stick close to him or you'll get "Mission Failed, You didn't obey your orders"
