surpher 1 Posted June 3, 2005 Yep your being to picky but all feedback is welcome. It's a military airbase so it doesn't really need a terminal building does it ? And whats wrong with my double runway, I love my double runway it has plenty of taxiways. This is only one of four airbases/ports I'm gonna have on my island, two military, one grass runway and a civilian airport, so your bound to like at least one of them. Especially as you've just volunteered to design my civilian airport yourself

I guess it really doesn't. Quote[/b] ]And whats wrong with my double runway, I love my double runway I guess the double runway is fine, I guess the point I wanted to make was the taxiways should be improved. Â I only suggested removing one of the runways to make room for the taxiways. Daniel 0 Posted June 3, 2005 I really like the Airports, the textures are well used, and its cool (if unrealstic) to take off next to a team mate at the same time Keep up the great work
surpher 1 Posted June 3, 2005 Well you wont be banging wing tips as you hurtle down the runway, there's at least a 50m meter gap between them. Parallel are not that unusual. <a href="http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=751698&WxsIERv=Obrvat%20767-232&WdsYXMg=Qrygn%20Nve%20Yvarf&QtODMg=Fna%20Senapvfpb%20-%20Vagreangvbany%20%28FSB%20%2F%20XFSB%29&ERDLTkt=HFN%20-%20Pnyvsbeavn&ktODMp=Qrprzore%2023%2C%202004&BP=0&WNEb25u=Lb%20Gnanxn&xsIERvdWdsY=A102QN&MgTUQtODMgKE=Bireivrj%20bs%20Ehajnl%201Y%20naq%201E.%20Nzrevpna%20767%20whfg%20fgnegf%20ebyyvat%20ba%201E.%20Gur%20Fcevg%20bs%20Qrygn%20naq%20HF%20Nve%20321%20vf%20jnvgvat%20sbe%20gurve%20ghea.%20Lbh%20pna%20pyrneyl%20frr%20gur%20pvgl%20bs%20Bnxynaq%20ba%20gur%20bgure%20fvqr.%20Guvf%20ybpngvba%20zhfg%20tvir%20cubgbtencuref%20njrfbzr%20ynaqvat%20fubgf%20jura%20cynarf%20ynaq%20ba%20gur%20E%2FJ%201E%2C%20ohg%20V%20xabj%20vg%20uneqyl%20unccraf%20jura%20vg%20vf%20fhaal%20bhg.%20%5BAvxba%20Q70%5D&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=54312&NEb25uZWxs=2005-01-09%2000%3A00%3A00&ODJ9dvCE=&O89Dcjdg=22214%2F12&static=yes&width=1024&height=711&sok=JURER%20%20%28cynpr%20%3D%20%27Fna%20Senapvfpb%20-%20Vagreangvbany%20%28FSB%20%2F%20XFSB%29%27%29%20NAQ%20%28ZNGPU%20%28nvepensg%2Cnveyvar%2Ccynpr%2Ccubgb_qngr%2Cpbhagel%2Cerznex%2Ccubgbtencure%2Crznvy%2Clrne%2Cert%2Cnvepensg_trarevp%2Cpa%2Cpbqr%29%20NTNVAFG%20%28%27%2B%22ehajnl%22%27%20VA%20OBBYRNA%20ZBQR%29%29%20%20beqre%20ol%20cubgb_vq%20QRFP&photo_nr=34&prev_id=752067&next_id=750524#" target="_blank"> San Francisco - International</a> <a href="http://www.airliners.net/open.file/164140/L/" target="_blank"> Nice - Cote d'Azur</a> <a href="http://www.airliners.net/open.file/500087/L/" target="_blank"> Sydney - Bankstown</a>
Student Pilot 0 Posted June 4, 2005 Yes, parrallel runways are quite common, Los Angeles International, Midway, Pittsburg, Charlotte, Dallas Ft. Worth all have parralel runways. Â However, if you wanted to get technical, 50 meters is not really enough space between runways to conduct same direction operations, and nowhere near enough space to conduct opposite direction operations. Â According to AIM 3-8-3, the minimum distance between the centerlines of parrallel runways for same direction operations for light single engine planes is 300ft. Â For twins it's 500 ft, and all other aircraft need 700ft. Â Lesser distance is ok, you just can't use both runways at the same time, which is the whole purpose of having parrallel runways. Ok, I'll shut up now
