pepel 0 Posted October 14, 2004 I wonder why some missions don't load correctly in the server. After some secons watching the message "Receiving data" all the players are "kicked" to the missions window with an error that explains that the server has a lack of the addon extras:objects do you know why is that happening? thanks in advance [sSU] Super Pepel
benu 1 Posted October 14, 2004 Because the server is missing this addon?
pepel 0 Posted October 15, 2004 I'm not so dumb ;)! And extras:objects is just an example. It happen too with extras:up_ww2 (and I can promise that the file exists and it's readed by the server). Most of the missions loads correctly, so perhaps is a mission issue...I don't really know so.... what ? benu 1 Posted October 15, 2004 It could be two issues then: 1) a broken addon on the server. 2) a broken addon in the mission makers installation. This sounds like the first case. You could try to put all addons from the server from modfolders into the addons folder and see if that helps. Might help, but is no guarantee. The other way is to find and correct the broken addon. This is a lot of work. This works always the same. For example the bas_repair.pbo inherited on the ah64, but did not declare that dependency in its config. After installing it on our server all missions using the ah64 did not work anymore, claiming "missing addon bas_repairh". So the addon displayed in the warning is normally NOT the one that is broken, but an addon that builds on that addon. Another way to find broken addons is when a PLAYER gets that message in the briefing screen. Those are normally broken addons, that are not even used in the mission you play at that time. Good luck hunting.
