no.9 0 Posted February 19, 2002 Guys, I used to have an SVD. It can be accurate sub 1 moa but you would need to find some Soviet sniper ammo. I will never out perform a bolt action sniper. The Soviets had a different philosophy regarding snipers. In the west snipers tend to be independant scout/hunters. this is what we think of when we hear "sniper". In the East they are more of a squad sharpshooter. IIRC the Drag was designed to support the squad AK-47's with aimed fire up to about 600 yards or so. The 7.62 round is more compeable to the 30.06 than the .308. It is a more powerful round depending on the bullet type. The Dragunov and the bolt action guns are sort of apples and oranges. The Drag definitly has it's own mystique which makes it verry cool! I wish I did'nt sell mine. No9
Miles 0 Posted February 19, 2002 The dragonuv -makes a better sound -has a better name -looks better -is far more powerful -much easier to use at long range and can you stop talking about the m21's scope? If you are actually using it for this purpose your gonna miss your shots. Look in the manual and youll see how to aim it properly

Dragunov is too loud. It looks better either and there's 20 magazine rounds.
Gorgi Knootewoot 0 Posted February 20, 2002 Woohoo, I like the SVD the most. Altough i miss the zoom function, and has a nice aiming calculator thingie in it. Most of the time i just use the center of the circel to kill and almost never miss. Targets that are further away than 500 meters, i use the aimthing. And the gun looks better than the M21 anyway. The bad side is the noice of the gun and the clip size. Only 10 bullets, but ONE is ENOUGH for me.

BlackFeather 0 Posted February 22, 2002 A 7.62 is not closer to a 30.06 its basically a .308 like the 5.56 is a .223, and How did you get this SVD?

Striker24 0 Posted February 22, 2002 The SVD's sight is way to complicated for me. I just like to see em fall and move on to the next target not match the scale to the chevrons then get the movement right etc. etc. etc. Just bag em and tag em
