wildbrumby 0 Posted May 16, 2004 I'm stuck at the moment in the mission "grounded" in Red Hammer. In the previous mission you have to steal a Russian transport helicopter and blow up some cobras. Once you have done this, you must blow up enemy armour in the next mission. This is impossible, as I never have enough rockets to hit them all. Where do I rearm? shrike 0 Posted May 16, 2004 You can't rearm in this mission as far as I remember. It's been a long time but IIRC the amount of rockets at your disposal depends on how many you used in the previous mission. When I played it I was fairly low on rockets, too and I needed at least 10 retries to suceed. It's all bout approaching in the right angle. You need to hit the Shilka fast and hard then re-align to hit all tanks in a row. Don't panic and save your rockets for safe hits. Done If you're down to like 20 rockets I suggest to revert to the previous mission and keep as many as you can as you won't make it...at least I wouldn't. void_false 1 Posted May 16, 2004 as far as i remember 1.46 didnt have savevar and savestatus comms. so you will have full ammunition at next mission. 192 rockets - correct me if i mistaken. then switch to manual fire and try hitting those yanks at _low_ height. that way you will fire more accurate. And there're enough rockets. it was enough for me even to kill blackhawk
m21man 0 Posted May 16, 2004 The airport is not too well defended, so you can slow down and hit each helicopter with single rockets. That will save up some ammo. wildbrumby 0 Posted May 16, 2004 Thanks everybody. I passed it now. I find the best thing to do is after you have killed everybody in the first base plus the vulcans, sneak over to the air field, and get into the Kiowa. Autohover really low, and you can blow up about four cobras right there. Watch out for the M2 and the AT soldier though. Both will shoot you down. Then go back to the other base, land, and get into the chopper there. Finish the job at the airfield, and you should have more rockets next mission. I want to point out now that the only Red Hammer walkthrough that I know exists has it all wrong on this mission. (www.atwar.net/content.php?article.33). The author first says that the chopper you steal is a mi 24. It's actually a mi 17. Second, he says that you only face m 60s and vulcans in the next mission. I faced vulcans, m 60s, plus about three M1A1s. Also, are the vulcan's actually a threat in the marooned game? I shot the drivers of one and got in. It has no fuel and no ammo. Do you really have to blow them up? Plus, has anybody noticed that shilkas are much more deadly then vulcans?
m21man 0 Posted May 17, 2004 Quote[/b] ]It has no fuel and no ammo. You've been Codemaster'd ! Quote[/b] ]Plus, has anybody noticed that shilkas are much more deadly then vulcans? Maybe because Shilkas have three crewmen instead of two. Might make them scan their area more effectively.
wildbrumby 0 Posted May 17, 2004 Quote[/b] ]You've been Codemaster'd ! LOL. I thought so. Sneaky programmers! Quote[/b] ]Maybe because Shilkas have three crewmen instead of two. Might make them scan their area more effectively. Perhaps. But I've also noticed that even when the vulcan gets a lock on you and opens fire, you can often survive. I am doomed when more then one shilka opens up on me!
