threat.at 0 Posted April 11, 2004 OK, and last but not least... A refined command menu would be great... (I know this has been discussed here already - but I think I have good suggestions for this theme) When the commander, which level ever (group, platoon, company, battalion), gets his targets and infos of the surrounding operation, he should be able to give his groups a plan, how they should act in the first way... stay together until there, spread out, part there, ONE goes there, TWO goes there, fire sector... cease fire until... At the moment you can tell the units only ONE command and they confirm, if they are ready! That's to few! You should be able to give the units whole chains of commands, like a programm code?? <span style='color:GRAY'>There existed a game for PC,ST and AMIGA in 1990, which was called OMEGA - there you were commander of a tank squadron and had to code your tactics into the tanks! Whole listings were needed - the opcode was in a BASIC style and interpreted then.. Â Was really a nice idea - sadly this game was forgotten soon, like other games in this fast market, although it got very good critics... but there didn't exist a Internet and Mod Programmers or similar, which kept it alive - like OFP ... </span> Of course commanding during battle is even important, so the actual changes can be worked out. But (I think this stands in the manual?!) a fine tactic and planing BEFORE the battle is half of the victory...
