havocsquad 0 Posted January 5, 2004 Hey all, I recently have started a swift and very promising SWAT type mission dealing with an armed robbery gone bad, cops pinned down by the robbers with AKM's and one with an RPD. Trust me, these guys have the cops pinned down with JAM Resistance side AKM soldiers and one RPD soldier. Â The cops on the scene can't penetrate their "body armor" with their Beretta 9mm's. The AI movement around the area is difficult to control, but the supressive fire created by invisible west "Cops" creates a very good atmosphere. It includes hostages and a hostage execution timer that ticks down a certain amount based on how many of the robbers are killed by your team. Â That determines the time until they execute hostages. There are a ton of bugs dealing with the situation after the incident of the botched robbery, but am working on it very dilagently. If I screw up badly with this mission after it's released, you all can make fun of me all you want, but I expect to release a VERY fun and very demanding mission that will make it very fun to play again and again until you hate it or hate OFP. havocsquad 0 Posted January 8, 2004 The mission will not involve CQB, there is no effective way to deal with the AI around buildings. I don't see any point being a suspect in this mission when you have a 100% probability of dying. Those SWAT units are carrying BAS SOPMOD ACOG M4's. Unfortunately the only heavy police units that are US origin that I've found is the police officer/ FBI HRT units. The mission will most likely involve holding at a distance without getting too close to the armed suspects. Â Then deploying your men to have a gun sight on each suspect but holding fire. They have hostages and the more men they lose, the shorter period which they will kill the hostages. If you are spotted, the hostages die. If you kill a suspect or a number of suspects and don't get them all, the hostages die. Munk 0 Posted January 9, 2004 Last couple of pics are kind of the same Why not use the riot guys from Deadmeats Nogova Police Pack? I wouldnt expect Nogova to have anything like the BAS SOPMOD ACOG M4's being such a small island n all. Maybe stick to a G3? I'll mess with these Nogova units, I was toying with the idea while I was gone, so I couldn't get anything from the internet. Anyways, I'll keep you all posted. Later, Havoc.
