I want to put on some weight for my plane OFP thinks its a feather how do i do this?

Select the Geometry LOD of your model. Press ALT + M to bring up the Mass Window (if you don't aleady have it up). Now select all of the model and enter the mass you would like to give it.

Getting the mass of planes can be a tricky business, and I'm sure someone else can explain the ins and outs of it better than I. But that's the basics anyway
