Stormesk3 0 Posted October 26, 2003 Hi, I'm a newbie here. I have been playing OFP for almost a year now, and as an ex soldier (Norwegian national service, infantry and armoured cav), I was blown away by its reality. I just discovered the site and I'm very excited to learn about the upcoming sequel. One thing which woudl be great would be if there were alternate endings to missions and if your performance on one mission affected how the next missions would be. For instance: Mission one - Carry out ambush on a convoy transporting weapons to the enemy front lines. If you succed great! If you fail (say if the convoy escapes) but survive, then you still go on to mission 2, but the enemy there will have been equiped and will have better/heavier weapons. Mission two - Capture a Hill. If you carried out the last mission successfully, the enemy aren't equiped with as dangerous weapons. If you capture hill, your forces can place artillery there for the next few missions in the same Area of Operations. If you are replulsed, but survive, you can still go on to mission 3. Mission three - Search and destroy. Scour a valley and root out all enemy forces you find. If you captured the hill in the last mission you can call in artillery supprt. If not, the enemy commands the high ground and can call in arty on your head - OUCH! Mission four - Recon - sneak behind enemy lines and observe what kind of forces they have and where these are placed. (This should be randomised every time the mission is played ) Your performance here will help you on your next mission. Mission five - Attack enemy with a squad of handpicked (by you) troops. If you have gathered intelliegence successfully in Mission four, you will know where their different sorts of units are, and you'll know for instance how many Anti armour troopers it may be prudent to bring along, etc. And so on...
