DDT GoodGuy 0 Posted December 16, 2001 how about cm and bis sell the rights to ofp to another developer and let them take on the project and let them make patches and updates or dont sell the rights to them and have them work on the game for free! cooz i know there are plenty of good developers that would love to make patches for ofp for free! this community really wants to see new updates every month and since you guyz are not gunna do that let someone else do it! KillorLive 0 Posted December 17, 2001 I agree, but who? It would turn most small-key ownerships into the next Valve. We don't need people so high on power just s**t on the gamers about cheating. Valve: "I don't really care about your needs" Gamers: "But there 10's of thousands of cheaters in HL!" Valve: "Okay, I'll release a fix that stops the cheaters for 5 hours and make them more advanced in the end." Gamers: "ARGH! Now over 95% of the Half-Life community cheats!" Valve: "Let Punk-Buster handle it." Gamers: "They got out of the Half-Life world because you wouldn't fund them!" Valve: "So? As long as people keep buying our game we'll keep milking and patching it, but we wont fix cheats. We can fix the cheats, but if we did we would take a huge chunk of the community away, so we will hide it by trying to fix it every 6 months with some stupid feature." Gamers: "Hmm... MoH:AA was just released...." Valve: "NOOO! We need our 15 thousand server community! We will make fake patches that fix non existent problems to keep you here for however long we can!" And so on...
