raistlin_kell 0 Posted August 18, 2003 I have recently setup a stand-alone dedicated server (AMD 2xMP1900, 512m DDR, SCSI, 1gbit LAN) I copied the entire flashpoint  directory (with Resistance) to the stand alone server (didn't install on server). Now when i run a LAN game from the dedicated server, all other players play fine, except me... I think Fadeware has kicked in and seen that my game box & server has the same game directory (and possibly CD Keys if they aren't stored in the WinXP registry) i am finding it extremely hard to hit targets and my gaming box occasionally locks up.. It never locks up when i'm playing single-player or if someone else runs the server. Its frustrating! is fadeware killing my gaming box?
Lobanak 0 Posted August 21, 2003 hmm... I have no problems with it, but I have linux server running. Try to use another user for starting the server, also try if it will be better when you install the game real on the server. I don't think it's fadeware related. benu 1 Posted August 21, 2003 The linux server doesn't need a serial, i am not sure about the win server. You could check if your win server has a serial in the registry [1] and delete it. I am not sure if it works afterwards, so you should export that registry keys first. If it doens't work without serial you will most likely need 2 serials, one for the server and one for your client.... RN Malboeuf 12 Posted August 26, 2003 if you have the ofpr server 1.91.exe then there wont be fade or any thing as long as you are on different machines, if your running the server and a Game of ofp on the same machine no matter who fst it it the game fks up badly servers dont even need any serials as matter of fact
