Sgt_Wilson 0 Posted June 3, 2003 Is it possible to manualy control the direction of a cars front wheels, when driven by the ai ? Cheers
BronzeEagle 2 Posted June 3, 2003 No. That's because cars don't have a commander position.
jeppelykke 0 Posted June 4, 2003 could you not just write a script that adds the driver to your group so you can control him and telling him where to drive to? and then un join him from your group when you leave the car! Just suggestion i suck at scripting but that should be possible
Sgt_Wilson 0 Posted June 4, 2003 Hi, Thanks for the replies. I wanted to get a halftrack (1944 mod) to drive off the road and slowly work its way through some scattered trees. Left to the AI driver, this takes three days and they end up pointing backwards I started using setvelocity and setdir with some basic trigonometry, to manualy navigate the vehicle through the trees. But the AI driver will not turn the wheele in the direction I want the vehicle to move, so it looks a bit strange. I may have to give up on the idea, as there is no way to alter the pitch of the vehicle either. Any other suggestions on how to help the AI navigate through trees would be much appreciated. I did try a ridiculous amount of waypoints, but that was not much better. Regards
