The commander of a tank squadron described how four hours after they had smashed their way past the militants last stronghold in Basra University last week, two men who had laid among their dead colleagues for all that time suddenly jumped up and ran towards him with a grenade in their hands, trying to reach the British crew 50 yards away. “I have never seen such fanatical behavior. It was truly chilling,†the commander said. “Our machine-gun was pointed right at them. They knew they were going to die, but they just kept running at us and shouting, determined not to throw the grenade but to jump on to the tank and detonate it while still holding it.†Is it possible to script a very rapid counterattack the enemy positions / attempt to overrun the attacker? The scenario I'd like to make involves a poorly equipped but fanatical 3rd world militia (Checen separatists, Mujahedeen, saddam fedayeen / al-qa'ida / taleban) attacking a smaller but well equipped squad of soldiers (US marines, US/UK special forces or RUS speznaz) . Maybe they would fix their bayonets after they come under small arms and mortar fire etc. , leave their trenches and rush towards the enemy and the gates of paradise. Maybe shooting their AK47s on full auto from the hip. Some of them might even be human claymore mines. Does OF have features that would make AI's fanatical attacks impossible? MintyBoy 0 Posted April 14, 2003 Suicide bombers are really easy to do if they're after a stationary target (empty tank/MG position/command tent, etc). All you need is a guy to "removaeallweapons this" and "this setunitpos "UP"" in his init-line, give him a move WP on the target- FULL speed, COMBAT behaviour. Next a "Present" trigger on the target, radius, say 5-10m (depending on how big your explosion's going to be) and group it to your nutter. In the onactivation field, simply camcreate an explosive (handgrenade/heat shell/laserguided bomb/whatever)at the bomber's current position. Et voila! Big bang and dead nutter. theavonlady 2 Posted April 14, 2003 You'll find an example of suicide bomber scripting in Winters' mission Silent Night Deadly Night. You can download the mission from the MOM section at The FAQ.
