Dashers 0 Posted April 7, 2003 I am about to put up a dedicated OFP server, but it's been such a long time since I've done dedicated server stuff (and then it was on an ADSL connection), so I'm a bit out of sync. MinBandwidth and MaxBandwidth. Is this in KBytes/sec? Bytes/sec, Kbits/sec? I'm presuming, by way of the server documentation it's bits/sec, but I just want to be sure. If so what would be an excepatble maxrate for a 100mbps connection? Theortically I guess it's MaxBandwidth=104857600; but I'm sure there are some people out there with experience with tweaking their configs. Regards, Dash. Skunk Monkey 0 Posted April 8, 2003 Most commercial servers (10Mbit - 155Mbit) use the following settings. MaxMsgSend=384; MaxSizeGuaranteed=512; MaxSizeNonguaranteed=256; And dont bother with Min/Max Bandwidth. I am lead to believe that the settings make LESS differance with the sockets netcode than with the old Directplay settings. If you are running a 1.46/9 server then use the above settings with min bandwidth @ 768000.
