Workbench not loading when starting up

Hi, 

I'm not fully understanding why the workbench is not willing to play ball. I know it's experimental, but failing to launch on first try is a little strange? I've copied the error message. It makes no sense to me. If someone can point me in the direction of fixing it, that would be appreciated thanks?

Things I've tried so far; 

 

Verified integrity of files. No issues

Uninstall and reinstall of both workbench and the base game. Still no success. Game loads fine every time. Workbench still gives the same error message.  

 

This seems to be a key error I think?
