How it is possible for zombies to 1-hit me while full health?

I've recently downloaded MiniDayZ 2 (so newbie) and went through tutorial and after the first visit to the base game sent me to the forest outskirts (literally the 1st location). I go towards a little shack and see a zombie. I want to smack him with a cleaver, but then I get 1-hit for no reason? Was it a special zombie or something is wrong?
