Chronicles 0 Posted February 17, 2003 Hello I have a problem in some missions i made : By example there is a large open field , with lot of soldiers walking there . At some point, an AI enemy attack chopper arrive (no machinegunners and no AA soldiers in the squads, i dont want the chopper to be destroyed) My goal is to have this helico to kill most of the infantry to let a few survivors running to the forest . But , i tried different kind of waypoints, different behaviour , even some "this dofire ..." ,"this dotarget..." , "this orderblabla..." etc etc and for result ingame the AI chopper fired on infantry very very few times , it has to make 5-6 big circles above the large number of infantry soldiers to decide to open fire on some of them. Sometimes it open fire quickly after spoting the soldiers , but most of the times , the chopper just fly over them Then after that, again , the IA goes for 5-6 circles above the field before deciding to open fire again. When i pilot a chopper myself , on one or two circle , i am able to take out 90% of the infantry , that is not difficult , missile and machineguns are deadly ! But the AI seems to not being able to destroy infantry with the same efficency as the vehicles That is a big problem i never succeed to solve Anyone has an help to offer ? what is the best thing to do to have this damn AI chopper to be lethal versus infantry ? Thanks for any hint, i begin to desesperate , some of my missions are not very fun because of this
Nic 0 Posted February 17, 2003 I messed around with that myself before...and I found that the best thing to do in order for choppers to kill infantry was to put a couple of vehicles in there with them. When they go to destroy the vehicles they will end up killing soldiers with missed shots or any soldiers within the blast radius. Having vehicles may not fit in with your mission but not sure what else you can do. Oh..and make sure to have the choppers skill level all the way up so that it can start aiming from a further distance. Â -Good Luck.
