Guest BratZ Posted February 12, 2003 Hi, Most know my Helldiver project and its near a beta release. I was curious of any features that anyone thinks that it should have. Now we are talking WW2 era and later models did have a night radar.Now Im no expert on the exact system used,but I was thinking a 200m ground radar for either just bomber or both? Maybe only when bombbay is open too? 200m would be useful to help find a ship and ground bombing missions. Also from stories I read,the tailgunner can pilot the vehicle,this is an odd position in the back,but I plan on doing this,also with a few gauges of course Playing with hidden selections...How about random numbers? Like from 1 - 100? A group of 5 all would have unique identification...you want that? It already has openable front/rear canopy,how about you can drop any on hand grenades if the canopy is open? (i cant possible make a new animation tho) Smokeshells? Should I start work on a torpedo? I was thinking a nice bomb that setvelocity -2 meter or so below sea level(instead of exploding when it hits 0) set the velocity to 110km or so (to simulate underwater propelsion) and it should travel below sea level until it hits underwater geometry of a boat? Bomb cam? I can do that too AI Features you want? I already have it so that the AI will open the bombbay in any mode but safe (so they will also use them) AI is tested effective with the bombs,usually does require a pass after spotting I already fixed the gear down bug if mission started in flight I'm trying to keep this as authentic as possible but with fun intended Anyone look through the list of possibilities and think any are foolish? I also may incorporate a carrier mode the plane will start with wings folded,and after you unfold the wings and at like say 20kmh it will burst for about 3-5 secs The plane handles nice,I can land it in like 50km ,avg 50-100 or so It prolly takes off (these are all guesstimates) in about 100km but itd be close Sometimes more ,so its only hopefull if it will be able to takeoff froma  carrier But if I incorporate the burst,then the carrier maker wont have to worry about it Next plane will be faster and should take off in a shorter distance Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Bullz_eye_on_my_back 0 Posted February 12, 2003 I'm not sure about the position of the bombers in that particular plane.... but one thing I thought would be cool (as I've seen in the large bombers- in the large ones they sit peering down into a "scope" that gives the view from underneath the belly of the plane showing the terrain and tops of the buildings so they know when to drop the bombs) maybe have the bomber's view point looking through his bombing sites that are pointed at the ground ...then maybe the bombing sites could have small tic marks to help them know when to drop the bombs Just a lil thought too early in the morning...
