hellfish6 7 Posted January 19, 2003 Some comments for ROC Pack 3 (if the makers even read this): 1. It would be great if you guys could build and include new islands with the next ROC mod. Right now it's just a little bit wierd to fight the PLA in very European islands. I don't think it woould be too hard to merge the missions with the new islands. Maybe there could be a ROC island (with training grounds, etc.), a PLA island and a neutral island? 2. More emphasis on the PLA. Right now they are just Chinese soldiers with Chinese weapons using Russian vehicles like the T-80. How about asking Sigma-6 to use his Type-98? Or retexturing the T-55 and BMP to their Chinese counterparts: Type 59 and WZ-501 Maybe the DKM mod would even let you modify their Patria to look like a WZ-523/551 3. Otherwise, I'm very impressed by everything so far. Keep up the great work!

PiNs_Da_Smoka 0 Posted January 19, 2003 All i can say is WTF to your mirrors marykay. Keep in mind i'm on a 56k. When it starts, it starts at like 400kbpsm and i get 2mb downloaded in like 3 seconds. But then, it stops dead in its tracks and doesn't continue. I mean, i'm not looking for it to keep going 400kbps, but at least slow down and keep going. It just stops Edit: It seems that Tawains Workshops page is going good now. Edit2: Grrr....damn DAP asks for the FTP password every 5 seconds. Any other mirrors? MAsta_KFC 0 Posted January 20, 2003 Excellent stuff from the Taiwanese Team. However there seems to be a serious prob with the textures for PLA army troops. Both the boots and the helmet come out white, as in untextured. I would take a screenie, however I've got nowhere to put it.

Bronski 0 Posted January 20, 2003 Finally, i can post. Took days for the forum to fully complete my registration. Anyways, the texture problem on the PLA soldiers can be fixed by switching off Hardware T&L. Just use the reg 3d. That will fix the problem. Thats what the creators of this addon told me and it does work.

hellfish6 7 Posted January 21, 2003 Yes, I forgot to mention those textures. Unfortunately, I don't think that I can change my T&L settings. Poop. Radeons give me 'cannot memory map' errors and don't let me change my T&L... hmmfff!

supergrunt 1 Posted January 23, 2003 io dont know about all of you guys (and girl sorryyyy avon lady ) but i DONT read taiwanes so i dont understand anything about the briefing screens (ok some of the details are mentiont in the intro movies but its not enough info) the pla addons could get a fix (agree on that i dont lower my machines capability for a coupe of addons) but i have to say i like what they did i like the addons i like the missions (the ones i understood like bootcamp) to bad they arent good in english so their text could be better but all on all not a bad addon greets supergrunt (holland )
hellfish6 7 Posted January 24, 2003 Yes... I think the missions are really well done (I still LOVE the HALO jumps and the other mass parachute drops I do as a Special Forces guy. I have to go back and see what the regular airborne campaign is like.) But the briefings are all in Chinese. Sometimes that's not a problem because when you start the mission, sometimes the map will tell you where your target is or a radio message will tell you where to go or what to do. But there was a time or two where I really had to bust out the detective work to figure out what the hell I needed to do. Especially the mission where you have to rescue the ROC officers (though once you figure out what's going on, it's a really cool, well done mission). I'm looking forward to the next version of it - hopefully with fixed textures and new Chinese vehicles. I'd even volunteer to convert the missions into fluent English, but I'm a lazy, lazy man and I doubt I'd ever finish it.
