Router problem - client port specification

Recommended Posts

Alright, here's my setup...

2 client pc's behind a single Linksys SOHO NAT router.

Problem -

When a single PC is connected through the router, no connection problems exist. When two PC's are connected, the ping on one is higher then the other to the same server, and occassionaly both computers lose connections at the same time.

Solutions -

This sounds like the router is having a hard time figuring out which packets to send to which PC.

We've had this same problem with Half-Life. We corrected it by specifying, on each machine through the shortcut to the HL executable, the client port that the server should respond to. After doing this, we've had no problems with Half-Life.

I'm wondering if there is a feature like this for Flashpoint.

Search The FAQ for "shortcut port". Is that what you're looking for? confused.gif
