stoppelhopser 0 Posted November 14, 2002 i am working on a ww2 soldier and it is almost finished. i tested it ingame and had to find out that the helmet is ok when soldier stands on plain ground. but when he stands on a hill slope, the helmet is either floating above the head or sinks down to the shoulders. i opened "mc vojakw2.p3d" to compare my named selections to the ones of the reference model to see whether my helmet is assigned correctly, and it is... does somebody know what the position of the helmet is relative to? or maybe some hint what has to be taken care of concerning the helmet? i wanted to add a picture but this seems to be not possible... der bastler 0 Posted November 14, 2002 Check the helmet's vertex properties: there's a check box named "Surface" containing several options. "Normal" seems to be default value, "On surface" prevents the base vertices of a building from floating in the air on steep slopes. With "Keep height (fence)" selected, the vertices will follow the terrain's contour keeping the correct height. Compare your changed vertices with original vertices regarding the properties -perhaps that's the point?
stoppelhopser 0 Posted November 14, 2002 thanks man!! it seems that setting it to "normal" does the trick
