Completely disable voice comms for low speed internet connections

Hello

 

I unfortunately suffer with poor internet speeds which means it's a struggle to play Arma online. To be honest it's a struggle with most games, some are fine though. Anyway I've noticed that voice comms seem to be completely unaffected even when the game itself is acting like some sort of nightmare version of the matrix before the inevitable kick from the server. I realize the voice comms probably use UDP or something but surely I would be better off if I didn't have to download it. Perhaps there could be an option to completely disable it which would not just mute it but actually prevent the data from being sent in the first place?
