Cpl K. Weerd 1 Posted October 17, 2016 2nd Battalion 5th Marines [2/5], is a newly created realism unit in the ArmA III community. We represent a former unit of the United States Marine Corps. However our main goal is to simulate current day tactics, strategies and the organization of a USMC based battalion. To strive for such a realistic environment, we utilize a few mods stated below (modlist). Do not expect this to be a unit where you would hear ‘sir’, furthermore we do not call eachother by rank as well. People might have done alot for the unit, but they might as well do nothing else in the real world, so we do not call people by title. Though, ranks and chain of command are used for proper organization and a good representation of strategies and tactics in game. We are a European based realism unit, who usually play one or two official events per week. These events are held on either a friday, saturday or/and a sunday. Official events, will start at 7PM GMT 0 and will last around 2 hours. How to join? First of all, the player is to hop on the website. Here, the player is to go to the forums. Here you can find, the recruitment desk (under recruitment office). In this board the player is to apply for the unit. To do so, the player needs to copy the application format and paste it into an newly created topic, here he will answer the questions stated within the format. Within 24 hours of applying, one of the NCO’s will accept or deny the players application. If accepted, the player is to hop on teamspeak 3 and have a small interview with one of the NCO’s. After an succesfull interview, the player is officially welcomed to the recruit class. What to expect from us? The recruit will go through a very small recruit training (Chapter 1 – Orgnanization), its probarly the smallest recruit realism training out there! Thats because, we wish to emphasize everything in a practical manner. The player will learn by doing small operations and participate in unit trainings and excercises. I almost forgot to state, that after Chapter 1, the recruit will be made a Private (Pvt) and will be assigned to one of the Fireteams. Within a Fireteam, he will furfill the role of a 0311 Rifleman wich is the most basic type of infantry within the marines. However, we also are in need of Team Leaders as this is a small unit, but expected to grow fast over the coming months. The unit is perfect for people who wish to have more of a say within the unit and for those who wish to become future leaders. Though, we are not MilSim we are dead serious In-Game, we are strict when it comes to our rules and our playstyle. Who do we look for? Our unit currently recruits people who are 16 or above, however we do expect the player to meet our expectations when it comes to maturity. Furthermore, we require the player to active. By that we mean, checking the website each 48 hours for updates, but obviously to attend most of our operations/trainings as well. We use attendance polls on the website. Do not forget to fill in these attendance polls, because we will handout strikes. The maximum amount of strikes is 3, after this a kick will follow. Thirdly, we are looking for players who really wish to learn and not only kill and shoot. Our operations for example, are scenarios that could occur in real life as well. Therefor the player must be a patient player. And last but not least, the player obviously needs a working microphone and a legal copy of ArmA III Open roles As this is a newly formed unit, we are currently filling up our first Rifle Squad. Therefor, the only OPEN role is the 0311 Rifleman. Each 0311 Rifleman will start of as a basic rifleman within one of the fireteams and is equiped with a M16A4, he will also serve as the Fireteam scout. The rank attached to this role is Private, but due to a small amount of players, the player can rank up (field position and rank) to for example, an Automatic Rifleman (also a 0311 Rifleman) but carries the rank of Lance Corporal, or Assistant Automatic Rifleman (Private First Class) Modlist To create a more realistic environment in ArmA III, we utilize the following mods: @ace3 @asr_ai3 @cba_a3 @task_force_radio @rhs_afrf3 @rhs_gref @rhs_usf3 @cup_terrains_core @cup_terrains_maps Need help obtaining these mods?
