Methods for lag testing a mod/mission in Multiplayer? <Solved>

Hello

 

I've finally got my own dedicated test server up for testing an Ai mod, and everything has been going pretty well, except for the fact that I am not able to test under conditions where a client has a slower connection to see if issues come up.

 

I tried looking at the properties of my cable connection on my system and see no way to regulate the speed for multiplayer testing, so the only other method I can come up with is to actually temporarily purchase another dedicated server that would be like 5000 miles away so I would by default get lag when connecting for testing, but of course I'd rather find another way if possible rather than throwing money out on yet another dedicated test server.

 

Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.

Make friends across the pond?  Maybe head over to the Arma 3 Units page and enlist some milsim units from the other side of the globe to help you test things?

 Just discovered that the server provider I'm using allows a certain number of server location changes for the account, so it's all sorted now, just changed for a while to Australia.

 

 Testing with others would certainly be somewhat time consuming and potentially complicated at very least for their part, I probably restarted the server and uploaded changes 30 times over the weekend during the process of discovering the root of issues and testing solutions, apart from the time spent in-between all of that scripting changes and doing single player tests as well. The dedicated server has really been quite a gift, in that I can test and change things in multiplayer at my own leisure.

just changed for a while to Australia.

 

 

How insane is it that we live in a world where that's even an option?  "Oh, it's Thursday?  I'll just use a server from Australia for a bit I suppose..." :)
