WHO ARE WE?

The 382nd Naval Infantry Battalion has a long and illustrious history, most recently participating in the 2008 South Ossetia War and the 2014 Annexation of Crimea. We strive to animate this unit through ArmA3 realism, and bring it to life as a highly mobile mechanized fighting force.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Our unit, the 382nd Marine Battalion, strives to deliver an enjoyable and immersive combat-realism environment. The scope of our operations is vast, with huge potential for future development. We are always improving, be it our forums, our training, or our tactics in order to make our unit the best it can be.

Our standard operating theme is mechanized Russian Marine infantry, working hand in hand at a platoon level with light and medium armour to achieve a wide variety of combat goals. We utilize realistic tactics, ranks and structure, meticulously researched and developed In order to deliver the highest quality game-play experience possible. Similarly, our missions have great variance, with diverse objectives, assaulting, defending, supply, ambush, convoy operations, patrols and many more, all driven by campaign-driven original content.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

We are currently recruiting dedicated members to fight alongside us in the 382nd Marine Battalion. Our current size is relatively small, a single squad and command element, though it has massive scope for expansion. Pending the recruitment of additional members, we shall be fielding a second and eventually third squad, as well as a small air contingent to support our operations.

The roles we offer are diverse, and we always attempt to place a newcomer in their desired role. Officers, squad members, vehicle crews, pilots, we are happy to welcome all. Previous ArmA experience is always valued, though it is not vital. All newcomers will receive training in their desired role.

We have the collective experience of years of playing ArmA in a realism-based environment, as well as the knowledge gained from operating an enjoyable realism unit. We have channeled this into making one of the very few REDFOR Realism Units in the ArmA community. All you need to do is sign up today!

The unit has continued to go from strength to strength and we are now at almost a full Platoon strength. Some of the changes we have enacted is to move away from a predominant aviation based support system and implemented a ground-based support group as we felt this was something that a lot of units of our size are not doing, it adds a greater degree of authenticity in that having a sole helicopter at our beck and call isn't true to anything and it also adds a proper logistical chain back to our FOB. There was a lot of skepticism around trying this system but we agreed amongst ourselves that it is worth trying and so far it has been a great success enabling us to do something that no one in the unit has experienced before.

We have also currently shifted away from BMP-2s and on to BTR-80s as it fits what we are doing currently much better. The great thing about the Russian Forces, from our perspective, is the lack of uniformity; It allows us a degree of freedom to tailor each tour to what we are doing when required.

Our pedigree in Russian realism stretches back to 2012 and we strive to continue on for many more years. We have almost completed our second full tour in the newest portrayal of the Russian Forces and will soon be embarking on another campaign against "The Old Foe".

So whether you want to join us as a regular marine or to work your way up the chain of command, all are welcome. We strive to do our best to get people where they want to be and look out for one another to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves, at the end of the day we all remember that even though it is realism it is still a game and everyone wants to enjoy it.
