mini g 10 Posted October 1, 2015 I was sitting in work the other day when I heard a manager and the IT guy discuss their plans to just dump some of the remaining Dell servers as we've moved to a cloud based system. Seizing the opportunity I managed to snatch the last one without really thinking it through (free stuff eh). http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pedge/en/1850_specs.pdf Its an old Dell Poweredge 1850, bought approximately 7-8 years ago. Now I've to supply a new IDE hard drive, which I have a few spare, but now that I've got it I'm wondering will it run Arma 3? I'm looking at a single instance of maybe 20-30 players, a few mods and Patrol ops, possibly the headless client. Then a small team speak server for the players. Will it work? If so what needs done to it? Or is it just a pipe dream? Heck could it run Arma 2 or even DayZ (when the server files are released)? Your help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Hud Dorph 22 Posted October 1, 2015 I wouldnt set my expectations too high as it being a 5-6years old processor only running 1,8GHz, but since you have the thing give it a go. My expirence hosting a private server are GHz GHz and GHz are the servers muscles, but a 30player dayz server - why not if you got the bandtwidth for it.
