Linux server Bus Error

Recommended Posts

Since I installed my DayZ Epoch linux server, there has been an issue when restarting the server. The usual startup procedure goes through fine until someone logs on and presses ok (thus loading the mission). The server will then crash without any RPT error.

If I run the server without a screen the very last message is always "Bus error".

The weird thing is, sometimes the server works fine and it runs rock stable.

I am positive that this is not a script error, since I've made sure to fix every single error that appeared in the RPT or the client logs.

The fact that the server cant start reliably makes automated restarts slightly impossible. I manage by making manual restarts now and then but since that isn't really the best option and I'm getting slightly tired of having to restart my server like 6 times before it finally works, does anyone know what this error could mean?

My google search yielded no results, at least none concerning arma 2/dayz.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Pushing this half a year later because there is still no solution. I've seen several people have this problem.

Things I've tried:

  • A completely fresh install
  • Replacing Denisio's (the epoch linux server dev) binary with the BI one
  • cleaning out my server.cfg
  • getting a new server.cfg
  • different mods
  • going through every directory in search of upper case letters

Google has not yielded any results in the few months that passed.
