Widmak 0 Posted October 6, 2002 thnx very much for directing me there "OFP player Danko says he solved his sound loop problem on his PC which has an AC97 motherboard with an onboard sound chipset. He went into Windows' Control Panel and chose Sounds and Multimedia. Then he clicked on Sound Playback under the Audio tab and checked the Game Compatible checkbox. It worked for him and for his friend with a similar system" will test it soon hmm 'Direct Voice' not working with resistance exe is not workin either working fine in 1.46 anyways will read myself into this sim lots to learn /widmak

This also allows VON. But the draw back is that it is cumbersome and lags alot. So, BIS cameup with new method using sockets(Socket Implementation). This is more efficient in transmitting data over the internet, but since BIS developed it from scratch, they didn't have time to insert VON capability with the implementation. so that's why you can't use VON in OFPR under SOCKET. BIS made sure ppl using Directplay was not left out, so they kept Directplay as well as implementing new method. When you goto ingame browser, you can choose either Socket/Directplay. and welcome to community.

Widmak 0 Posted October 7, 2002 Tried both fixes Voice comms work great now. and by sliding the HarwareAcceleration down in Multimedia config, 95% of my problem with sound looping is gone, at least I can enjoy the campaign now (I just betrayed a partisan ) Think I should just invest in a decent soundcard. thnx alot for ya'll help. /widmak
