Endo 0 Posted October 5, 2002 Hi, I've been modelling for a while now, and in the hope that oxygen would be released i've been working on a number of different things. i was wondering, once you've imported your model from 3D studio, and edited the .cpp file what do you need to do in oxygen to get your weapon to work. What Sort of limit are you looking at polygonwise. Example weapons
Prospero 1 Posted October 5, 2002 Rule of thumb: Keep .3ds mesh file down to about 200K (size). That should give you some sort of indication about poly/face/vertex count. Prospero
Endo 0 Posted October 5, 2002 Thanks for the tip. Does that apply to vheicles too, since i have a Zil, and a Toyota Hi-Lux in the works.
Prospero 1 Posted October 5, 2002 Applies to everything. Remember though, with clever use of proxies, you can effectively do a "multi-part" model, which the game will still interpret as one object. Prospero
