MARSOC Realism - "ARMA 3 Community"

Recommended Posts

IgsOgkJ.jpg

Established in August of 2012, MARSOC Realism is an Arma 3 community that focuses on recreating the training, tactics, and types of operations that MARSOC operators experience in the real world. We consist of a tight-knit group of friends bringing along multiple years of Arma experience dating back to the days of Operation Flashpoint. Our unit is primarily based around the structure of a Marine Special Operations Team, which consists of 14 operators (1 Officer, 11 Marines, & 2 Navy Corpsman). Our team is also augmented by Special Operations Capabilities Specialists (SOCS) which consist of specialized roles such as EOD Tech, JTAC, and MPC Handler. We also have an Aviation Combat Element for aerial transportation and CAS. We feel our operations bring the most realistic and fulfilling MARSOC style game-play you can experience in Arma. We hope you come check us out soon.

We run our own private dedicated server that hosts custom missions made by one of our members. Pickup missions are conducted throughout the week as well as our official unit missions on Sundays at 1900 EST.

Most of our members are based in the United States however, we do have a few based in other parts of the world.

We also run a custom mod pack that is tested regularly to put us in the best position to recreate a realistic MARSOC experience. We focus on getting it right, not just whatever we feel like. We use Task Force Radio in conjunction with Teamspeak 3 for voice communications.

Current Status:

We are finishing up our current deployment to the Middle East and will be transitioning to a training workup cycle for our next deployment soon. Now would be a good time to join us so you are integrated during the training cycle.

Public Server Information:

During the week we have our server open to the public. Currently we are using a custom made sandbox mission on the "Kunduz" map. All the information about our mods is available on our website here:

May 2015 Update

We just completed our deployment a couple of weeks ago wrapping up operation Desert Guardian on the Syrian coast. We've transitioned into a training cycle which we will hold for the next several weeks. During that time unit leaders will complete the planning and overview of our next deployment. Start date to be determined.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to join our community. You can get in now while we are conducting training so you can get up to speed with how we operate. Once we start a deployment it can be sometimes difficult for individuals to fully grasp our training program and attempt to join us in operations. Our deployments usually run anywhere from 3-5 months at a time and consist of operations to different locations (different maps). Our Intelligence Specialists do a good job of creating a deployment-like, situational atmosphere that is fun for individuals to immerse themselves in the best possible MARSOC experience. This is why we encourage individuals to join us during a training cycle as it is a more forgiving environment to learn in.

The Future of MARSOC Realism

We recognize that it is important for some individuals to know the relative size or projected plans a particular unit has to make an educated decision on who to join or not join. We are currently looking to fill out one team with enablers included that would be normally attached to a real Marine Special Operations Team. After that if we continue to see an increase in membership we would potentially expand to a second team however, the leadership at this time does not feel necessary nor have the desire to expand further than two (2) full Marines Specials Operations Teams. That would put ground membership around 32 individuals plus the four to six pilots which would keep our numbers under 40. Our community likes to be a tight knit group and we would hate to continue to grow past a point we can no longer keep that status.

As always, any questions at all refer to the top post for contact information.

Current Roster Breakdown:

Active - 11

Aviation - 3

Reserve - 1

Training - 5
