Middle lock sounds inaudible. Please help!

For some reason I can't hear missile lock sounds. Actually I can hear them if I strain myself but their volume is so low it is really difficult to hear over the engine sound.

This happens both when I am locked onto a target and also the missile warning when someone has launched one at me. The only way I know I have a missile heading for my ass is to look at the radar constantly.

Any help would be appreciated.
