LeeManatee 4 Posted January 13, 2015 Greetings, something need to be done problematic page https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_2 I'm not sure why, but there is a meatspin if you try to go for getting started -> ArmA II Units and objects Library the link there redirects you to http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class/ which redirects you to meatspin if your network region is russia, which is confirmed by our fellow community members this issue has also been confirmed and reported by Gorogon here http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?187582-link-at-official-ARMA-wiki-leads-to-GAY-PORN!-Its-not-a-JOKE-Fix-it-ASAP i do not know who is the owner of armatechsquad to adress this issue (let's asume they were hacked, as it's something unprofessional to have a dick copters redirect intentionally) but hope bistudio wiki moderators can get this link down untill it's resolved From russia with love, random customer
badluckburt 78 Posted January 13, 2015 The culprit is the Google Adsense on armatechsquad.com. They (Google Adsense) apparently working on a fix but that will probably take time. - edit I should add that it's not only armatechsquad.com that's having this problem, it really lies with Adsense, not with the sites running it. You could try installing an ads blocker for the time being.
LeeManatee 4 Posted January 13, 2015 i just don't get why this is network region ru problem specifically, as when i check armatech under tor everything is fine and there are no dicks flying, when i chet it without proxy you know the result. and about adsence, don't you think it's a bit weird as i don't even click anywhere but getting redirected instantly? not like having any actual adds with this specific content
badluckburt 78 Posted January 13, 2015 They target a certain IP-range, the guy in the thread below got sent to a site for fit mums, which is better than meatspin I guess but still :) It's a useless attempt by some advertising companies to generate 'clicks' to earn money. And you don't need to click anywhere for a web page to redirect you, it's very easy to do that through scripting wether it's Javascript or Flash, even HTML itself allows for it. I build websites for a living, thankfully none of those run Adsense but I couldn't resist looking a bit deeper into it. Also, Foxhound, the owner of Armaholic confirmed that it is an Adsense problem and they're working on a fix. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?187516-Armaholic-advert-malware If you can avoid the problem using Tor, maybe stick to that for now or use an ad-blocker.
