Stiackman 10 Posted November 19, 2014 So I have had Arma 3 since it was in Alpha and it worked fine until sometime over the summer. Ever since then the game crashes on startup and I have spent months browsing forums and asking people to figure out a solution but never did. I can uninstall and reinstall and the game will work for about 5 minutes but it will crash and then start to crash on launch every time. Specs: Win 7 64 AMD FX 8120 Amd Radeon HD 7870 (I have two and do run crossfire sometimes but it still doesnt work either way) 16 GB RAM Have HDD and SSD, OS is on SSD and so are most games
malcom86 33 Posted November 19, 2014 What do you mean with "crashes on startup" ? CTD ? Does it gives any error ? What do you do before it crashes ?
amatt 10 Posted November 19, 2014 Have you checked your RPT files for any clues?
Stiackman 10 Posted November 20, 2014 What do you mean with "crashes on startup" ? CTD ?Does it gives any error ? What do you do before it crashes ? Does not give an error at all, sometimes I can make it to the Arma 3 logo, others just a black screen then crash. It usually pops the window saying "Arma 3.exe has stopped working"
devilslayersbane 28 Posted November 22, 2014 Have you tried waiting? I know my computer will do this on start-up and just about 30sec-1min of waiting does the trick. Next time you open it, watch your processes on your task manager. Find arma3.exe and make sure that your computer is allocating memory to it. If it is, you're computer is just interpreting a long start-up time as a crash and a small bit of waiting fix it.
Stiackman 10 Posted November 22, 2014 I have tried to wait, I let it go for an hour once and it still just had the not responding message.

Stiackman 10 Posted November 23, 2014 It is allocating memory, still crashes. During trials for this though it did fully launch once and allow me to play for a bit, cant get it to do that again though, it still just crashes on startup
