Evan110185 0 Posted December 18, 2001 what script do i need to use to make a ctf? i just need to make the flag's script
Deus Ex 0 Posted January 3, 2002 Do this instead of creating a CTF script I have a better idea for you, click "Multiplayer", click "New", click a map you want to make a CTF mission on(for examp. Kolgujev), click on "New Wizard", click on "2-8_T_CaptureTheFlag" once, type in a mission name for your map, click "OK", Move your U.S and your Russian stuff around, desired. Press "Finish". Click on the map you just selected to make a CTF for (we did Kolgujev) click the yellow mission(a.k.a your missions name), click "Edit", and edit whatever you want in it. Add choppers, tanks, boats, planes... so on.. Click Preview to save your mission and to test it! This is alot easier using a template then creating everything else... 4ntifa 0 Posted January 3, 2002 Thanks, Deus Ex. That will save me a lot of work. Now, why the f**k isn't that on any faq or tutorial I've seen?! * * * NOW EVERYONE READ THIS: There is a real problem with documentation. I understand that it's not very high-priority in BIS, since they've got lots of other things to do. So, that kinda obliges us, the fans, to give them a hand. There really should be an "OFP Documentation Project" which would collect faqs, tutorials, howtos and such, and work to keep 'em current. A good starting point would be to "enlist" volunteers, collect docs, contact the author in order to get their permission to modify (update, that is) their work and set up a website. People could then download stuff from a centralized place and submit feedback when something's out of date, plain wrong or simply missing. Feedback would be processed and if needed, submitted as a task to work on. Someone would then take responsibility of the task, contact the original author and work with him (or alone if the author isn't available/willing to help) to fix the problem. I know I want to contribute as much to the community as I can, and I hope others want, too. I know I can write, and most importantly, organize. But the bad news is, I can't devote much time and energy because of my Real Life ... Therefore, I'm looking for a volunteer, with lots of time and energy and willingness to take responsibility, to be the "Director" for this project. I will lend a hand in organizing things, writing and possibly scripting website stuff (especially if we get hosting with J2EE support, but I guess I still remember PHP and Perl stuff). At the moment, I'm still a beginner in OFP editing and can't write useful original content, but that's about to change. We need lots of writers, especially those who have already written OFP docs or can write OFP scripts. We need a webmaster or two. Even more importantly, we need hosting for the site. The best solution would be if we could get hosted by a known and popular OFP editing site. We need an active editing community to give us feedback. We have that, don't we? We only need to get stuff done and be visible, and they'll surely contact us. Now lets get busy. Who's with me?!
barret 0 Posted January 3, 2002 There is : HTTP://WWW.OFPEDITINGCENTER.COM But That doesn't seem to cover what you wnat. This site is small, but it has tutorials, code sniplets, and other kewl stuff. Check it out.
4ntifa 0 Posted January 3, 2002 I've checked it out. There's a great wealth of information, but parts of it are horribly outdated, incorrect or simply written poorly. There should be a team which does kind of quality checking and ensures that stuff stays up-to-date. Not to mention maintains FAQs. Too much stuff up on OfpEditingCenter is written with a fire-n-forget mentality.
