multiple instances of a mission save

Hello, I have been playing missions with my friend, we saved the progress when we were done for the day, but I want to start the mission again myself without restarting the instance I've played with my friend, and save it..

CTI for example, I played with my friend, we saved it.. now I want to start my own CTI, the same mission, but don't want to delete the progress save I have made with my friend.. are there multiple save slots or something like that?

I tried copying the mission in the mission folder and renaming it, so I can start the second mission file with a different name, but I guess it doesn't work that way
