Mahon 10 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) 23rd Special Tactics Squadron"We Who Dare"The 23rd Special Tactics Squadron is a an Arma 3 unit based off of the real 23rd STS. The 23rd STS is a squadron in the US Air Force Special Operations Command that utilizes Combat Controllers, Pararescue teams, Tactical Air Control Parties, and Air Crews. We pride ourselves in our sense of community and closeness. It is said that the best teams are the ones that work well together. We focus on teamwork and utilization of tactics that will benefit us. Many units use tactics that would be used in real life situations but are not as applicable in a game such as Arma 3 and end up just adding confusement and slowing everybody down.Every person in this unit is equal. Rank is just an indicator of who to listen to for orders. If you have a problem with the unit, there is nothing stopping you from voicing your opinion. We have training on Monday and Thursday nights at 8pm EST and operations on Saturday nights at 10pm EST. Although we are a very new unit, so the times may change if enough members cannot make the current times.We will often be involved in joint operations working as support to the ground forces and as a JTAC to the CAS. For those of you that are not familiar with AFSOC (Air Force Special Operations Command), STS's specialize in coordinating air strikes and being a method of communication between the air and the ground.If this sounds like the unit for you, please check us out at our website and apply on our forums.
