soju 10 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) http://www.ark-group.org A brief introduction about who we are: ARK is an Arma group with its current primary focus being Arma 2, we are however actively looking into moving to A3 in the near feature. We are a new community that started in the early February, with our focus being coordinated, tactical and teamwork-oriented gameplay without redundant ranks or overly complex military procedures. Our initial core member base is filled with players with years of experience in the arma community. Requirements: We have a few minimal requirements for budding applicants: Players must be over the age of 18. Players must be respectful and willing to engage within the community Participate on a regular basis in our primary sessions. Failure to attend sessions on a regular basis will result in player-removal. Players must have a working and audible microphone, be able to use Teamspeak 3 and install a our custom modset. No ACE/ACRE experience is necessary, and if needed we can show you the ropes. Our sessions and gameplay We are primarily a European based group and currently our session is held at 8pm GMT on Saturdays, this can run till late in to the night dependant on player numbers. In the future we will look to running additional sessions and with other popular mods (i44 etc). Slotting in our sessions are open to every member who has passed his trial-period. However, members are expected to only take roles that they are comfortable with. We are not running any types of specialist / dedicated roles, for example sniper or pilot, if this is what you're looking for then this group is probably not the thing for you. Our modset Currently we run a custom modset which includes ACE, ACRE and various other mods as well as some small in-house additions. We also are tweaking and developing our own version of ACE to better fit our purpose and allow for more control over our modset in general. We are open to and encourage members to contribute towards any and all development processes within the group, however this isn’t mandatory. We are also using our own, inhouse-created addonized mission-making framework and AI-enhancement suite. Applying to ARK: Our application process is quite simple, you don't need do anything other than sending us an email, no interviews or tedious hardcore milsim “training†fluff. However upon joining every new member will go through our induction which consists of a small session that takes 20-30 minutes of your time, where we bring you up to speed on how we play and core fundamentals. Our email address for applications is applications@ark-group.org , the email must also follow the following format. Subject: ARK-APP [ONLINE HANDLE] My name is [online handle here]. I’m a [age here] year old guy/girl from [timezone/country/city here]. [standard message continues] We highly encourage you to put time and effort in your application. As mentioned earlier, we don't really care about your arma ACE / ACRE skills in general, so don't let that make you hesitant to apply. When accepted, you will receive an email, it will give you a few links and instructions on how to partake in our session. You are expected to sign up to our forums, and take part of our main session in a period of 2 weeks, failure to do so will lead to your invite being revoked and you will have to reapply. Do you have any questions about ARK that wasn't covered in this post? Feel free to send us an email, or adding sojaaan on skype. Edited March 11, 2014 by soju added a link. soju 10 Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) Time for an update on where the ark is currently! Its feels like a lot has happened since the initial post, while its only been 3 months. We have grown in numbers, from being 8 members in total and our first sessions being 4 people doing escape chernarus, we are now at 28 active members and have an average player count of over 20 in session and a list of over 50 custom in house made missions! This first three months has allowed us find our feet in terms of play style and mission development so that we can provide a more intense and enjoyable session for all involved. As our numbers grow we’ve been able to incorporate more assets in to our sessions which feeds off our in-house workshops lead by staff and members in how to properly employ them, this ranges from fixed-wing CAS to basic infantry principals. We have also moved away from PwS to an inhouse made repository distribution system and game launcher that suits our personal needs better. We’ve also continued our experimentation with ArmA 3 and while it’s not quite up giving the same level of experience it’s on it’s way to being a great step forward. This has also allowed us to create some small in-house modifications to suit our purposes such as ‘ACE’ style nametags, re-organised map markers and many other additional tweaks to suit our style of play. We know a picture (or in this case also some videos) are worth a thousand words so below are numerous videos have been made by our member base in the last months from our sessions. http://ark-group.org/images/bi/3.pnghttp://ark-group.org/images/bi/4.pnghttp://ark-group.org/images/bi/1.pnghttp://ark-group.org/images/bi/2.jpgOverall we now see ourselves as more of a community and less of a group of people that just play ArmA, we invite you to join us and continue this growth so you can participate, learn and enjoy Edited June 11, 2014 by soju
soju 10 Posted November 11, 2014 It’s already been six months! A lot things have happened so I figured it would be a good time for another post of where ARK is floating currently. We have reached a peak in player attendance with 35 players in one of our Arma 2 saturday sessions and our total member count is now at 45 active members. We’ve gained a lot of new blood and this has allowed us to take on bigger and more challenging missions and means getting to utilise more assets in the process. We’ve refactored a lot of our Arma mods and tuned our in-house content to give a leaner and cleaner experience. Now with well over 100 in-house missions and still having new content to play on a weekly basis thanks to our awesome community! We still continue our A3 sessions where we’ve been finding out what works and what doesn’t as well as reviewing various mods to see what fits our admittedly very high standards. One member of the staff team has publicly released his fortification deployment script Plank which we have been frequently using in-house. We hope that everybody will find it as useful as we do! As the last post, a picture says more than a thousand words, so here is some of our latest media. https://i.imgur.com/x9Fpr0l.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/SyhnkKW.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/320riSe.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/lkmuZye.jpg
