blackpixxel 53 Posted February 27, 2014 Hello again, I would really like to know what the PC's of the multiplayer-clients have to do. The server is calculating the AI, which is the part of Arma that needs the most performance. So the client would just have to place all the units and update their position. If they fire a bullet he may have to calculate that too. But how can this cause such a low performance? If I place 3 Bluefor and 3 Opfor squads in Arma 2 next to each other I will get 25 frames per second while they are shooting each other. But my CPU has to calculate a fight of 48 individuals, which isn't an easy task. In multiplayer I get a worse framerate than that. But my PC just has to place other players and units and he also has to interpolate their movement because the server does not give him the new position for each rendered frame. How can this task be more CPU-demanding than a 24 vs 24 AI-firefight? I am not asking for a solution for my low framerate. I would simly like to know what else the CPU has to do in MP that requires more performance than a SP-mission. Maybe a developer could answer this, or any other Arma-player. Thank you!
