Getting fps increase from chat?

I noticed that my fps degrades with time going from 30-40fps to 17-24fps, then I noticed that while having the chat opened, options menu opened or getting a error while running I see a increase of 10-15 fps but only when those are opened. Anyone knows why or how to keep those fps increase? Thx. PS: This is in multiplayer.

That's probably because the game gives priority to loading the chat screen over the actual game, or some such thing. I very much doubt that you'll be able to make that permanent in any other way than lowering your settings. Make sure to check out the advanced settings as well. Objects and vegetation can really slow down your FPS.
