[IC] Internation Conflict tournament "The Way its meant to be played!"

WHAT IS IC?

International Conflict is a tournament that was originally developed for a dying (pretty much dead) game called Joint Operations. The tournament features military style ranking, two armies, sunday battle day, and a 250 man server. The tournament is currently making a move the ARMA 3 to replace the dying Joint Operations game.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Basically there are two armies, these armies have separate rank structure, commanders, and troops and reside in password protected teamspeak channels. There is very little contact between both armies. Every sunday, these armies play several different modified maps and compete for several hours. Last week there were several variations of advance and secure lasting 60min each way but this is not always the case as the game missions change. The armies will fight eachother ever sunday for 10 weeks until a winner is crowned. After this happens everyone is removed from their army, new leadership is elected and randomized drafting begins again to select the army.

ARMY STRUCTURE

Each army at its most basic level is broken down into 3 divisions: Air, Armor, Infantry. When you join an army, you are allowed to choose which divison you would like to be in, and depending on your skill in that area, are assigned there. Everyone unless otherwise specified starts as a pvt. The rank structure exists to help avoid confusion and to formalize and organize tactics on game day. This is especially important when dealing with armies of 125 players. You rank up based on skill and leadership, because at the end of the day your rank determines how many others you lead. The different units are separated in teamspeak with their commanders using a macro key bind to communicate with other channels and send info up and down the chain of command. Again the rank exists to organize, this is not a role playing game.

NOT A CLAN

IC is NOT A CLAN but a community of ARMA 3 players seeking a large scale, moderated, organized PVP game each week. For those who are big on modding, this represents a community where your game mods can be played on a massive scale. IC players come from all different clans, guilds, and countries. This is NOT meant to take the place of your clan but gives members an area to compete against other ARMA players. This "battleday" is only early sunday afternoon for 4-6 hours (again only come to what you can) and will therefore not take clan members away from their clans.

COMMITMENT

There is very little commitment when joining the tournament. Absences from Sunday battle days are accepted but you are just asked to make a quick post saying you cant make it and you are free to come and go on Sunday as you please. You do not have to play the entire time. In addition there are no meetings except for an army specific meeting usually on Wednesday where we are allowed to recon the next sunday's battle map and formulate a plan, but even this is not manditory.
