Bullets randomly doing very little damage (most guns).

Recommended Posts

I've had an issue where it seems that for some random reason, my bullets do very little damage on particular shots. On the Katiba, it takes 1 or 2 shots to kill at most ranges (very far it takes 3, maybe 4). However, even on the firing range, it reads randomly that my shots do as little as .01 to .12, which is totally unreasonable to say the least! The next shot will typically be normal but it is so sporadic that sometimes it takes 4 shots to kill at close range for no reason!

Here is a video of the issue, it's hard to read the top right but if you fullscreen you can make out the basic numbers. It will do .8 (out of 1, I believe) and then it will do .24. It is really confusing me, and effects gameplay, as it happens to normal AI too in scenarios.

It is really annoying, because I am so used to ArmA 2, where with an M16 you can easily kill in 1 shot. Also, the strange damage bug happens with my imported ArmA 2 weapons in ArmA 3, so I do not think it is the weapons.

If anyone has any insight, or has experienced the same thing, I'd really appreciate some more perspective and information! :)

Have you tried turning off extended armor? It's on by default which causes people issues because they do not know its there. Try going to CONFIGURE -> GAME -> DIFFICULTY -> Extended Armor -> Disabled.

Yes, I have it turned off right now. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this issue, or are guns in ArmA 3 just far more armored? If so, that is really sad, because ArmA 2 had amazing shooting.

Ya, the real bullet proof vest armor system and damage system are pretty basic at the moment. Hopefully this will improve later on.
