AguaChaman 10 Posted August 19, 2013 Hey Everyone! Just a few questions. I have a little scripting XP with Arma2 and am getting into the mission editing now. I would like to make a MP mission/game similar to Life servers. Everyone seems quite tight lipped about what they do and how they do it. I can get into the files easily enough, but I am not interested in copy/pasting others work. One thing I really want to know about is the saving of player data to a database. MySQL specifically. The way the DB is set up. I am guessing by looking at the code that things are written to it by an array. Is the BIS MP Framework something that information on is not given out easily? Any help is appreciated!
kylania 568 Posted August 19, 2013 Use iniDB for databases I suppose. BIS MP Framework is dead and gone, long live BIS_fnc_MP. There's been a few "how do I mp" style threads recently that will help you with locality and other MP issues so search for those. If you have "little scripting experience" coding a "Life" server from scratch is probably a bad idea, but good luck all the same. The reason you don't find a lot of information about these style missions is they are intensely complex, require a bit of infrastructure (more than just a mission would) and usually run like crap even if you throw a lot of hardware at them due to the excessive amount of scripts constantly running.
